The Montegrande Dam is a work of high social impact, with the function of storing water for irrigation and human consumption, as well as controlling floods during the annual period of storms and hurricanes.The project consists of an embankment dam with an asphalt core, with 2,200m of length and 5,300,000m3 of landfill. It has control structures composed of a spillway, bottom discharger and water intake representing 245,000m3 of concrete. The river diversion was made through two tunnels of 8m in diameter and 270m in length each.The total value of the contract is US$ 588.00MM and at its peak it had a total of 2,500 direct employees.
