About Marco Garcia

Hey, thanks for stopping by! My name is Marco Garcia and I am a third-year Honors student at the University of Florida pursuing my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering pursuing a minor in Business Administration. My current roles on campus include being the Internal Vice President for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the President of the Future Business Leaders of America, a Suspension Subteam Engineer for the Solar Gators electric-vehicle design team, an Engineering Peer Advisor, and a TA for Principles of Management. This past Summer I spent as a Mechanical Systems Intern in the Healthcare Operations division of TLC Engineering Solutions. I was able to use a lot of the skills that I had gained throughout my involvement in clubs, such as participating in team technical meetings and project communication which I had done throughout my work with Solar Gators, interacting with company speakers which I learned how to do through ASME, and software learning and professional communication which I learned throughout my undergraduate studies.Though I opted to study Mechanical Engineering, I was always enamored with the business aspect of the world. The greatest advances of our time come from the cohesive blend of innovative engineering/technology with acute business experience. While I am taking additional classes to pursue a minor in Business Administration, I have gone beyond this to truly immerse myself in the world of business. I was chosen to serve as President of the Future Business Leaders of America to further refine my leadership and organizational skills and was selected to be a TA for Principles of Management to polish my understanding of project and people management. I hope to one day create a product and build a company of my own using the combination of interdisciplinary skills that I will have gained from my time at university.I am looking for a Summer internship in the engineering field to learn more about the industry, gain valuable work experience, and put my skills to use. If you have any questions about me or my experiences, feel free to connect and we can get in touch.
