Marco is an entrepreneur and a pioneer in the field of sustainability and climate change. He is co-founder of South Pole, a global climate finance leader that helps companies meet their net-zero carbon emission targets. Founded in 2006, South Pole has developed and provided finance to over 1,000 projects that reduce over a gigaton of CO2 combined.Marco started his path at South Pole by opening the Beijing office and by sourcing and developing greenhouse gas mitigation projects in China. He then gradually took over more responsibilities, first by extending his experience to Vietnam, then across the global projects portfolio, before assuming the position of COO of the company.
