Marco Coico (Palermo, 2001) has a bachelor's degree with honors in Cultural Heritage and a master's degree with honors in Archaeology. Interested in topics of cultural innovation, sustainable development and urban regeneration, his horizon is the Mediterranean and Europe through a geographic, linguistic, artistic, archaeological, and anthropological lens. His academic path includes courses in Mediterranean Archaeology at the University of Rome Sapienza, European Project Management at the "Scuola Beni Culturali" Foundation of the Ministry of Culture, Cultural Enterprises and Social Innovation at the University of Naples Federico II, Digital Creativity at the Politecnico di Milano, and Digital Marketing at IAB Europe.He works at Le Vie dei Tesori Foundation, dealing with Digitization, Research, Innovation, and International Relations. At Porta Felice s.r.l. he is engaged in territorial marketing and culture-based urban regeneration solutions.He is author at Gattopardo, the monthly magazine of Giornale di Sicilia, since 2021.Since 2020, he has been Vice President of the "Amici delle Vie dei Tesori" association.He is a member of the European Students' Association for Cultural Heritage (ESACH), Europa Nostra and Federazione Italiana Ambiente e Bicicletta; he has previously served as Education Coordinator in Sicily for the Italian Youth Association for UNESCO.He speaks Italian and English as native languages, has a strong knowledge of Latin and basic knowledge of French.In 2018, he co-managed the communication of a collateral event of the international biennial Manifesta 12.In 2022, he curated and produced the podcast series "FerdinanDea - The Island that (does not) Exist" and co-organized the "1st Mediterranean Forum of the organizations for the promotion and preservation of Cultural Heritage," with partners from eight European and non-European countries.Since 2023, he has been the Secretary-General of the "Italea Sicilia" working group for the "Roots tourism" project (funded by Next Generation EU) on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Since 2024, he has been a member of the working group of the "Work With Myths" project (Erasmus+ KA2) with partners from Greece and Poland.
