I have been selected as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication of the University of Milano-Bicocca, in the Laboratory of Modelling Uncertainty, Decisions and Interaction, under the scientific and academic supervision of Prof. Federico Cabitza, PhD. The Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication of the University of Milano-Bicocca is a high-level institution specialized in advanced research and didactical activities, with the aim to contribute significantly to the innovative processes of the Italian and European society and to the advancement of European research in strategic fields. The Department has been recently recognized as one of the National Excellence Departments by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.My research activities are in the fields of Human-Artificial Intelligence Interaction, Explainable AI, Human-Centered AI and Decision-Support Systems. Specifically, I deal with the study and evaluation of interdisciplinary methodologies and approaches for Human-AI Interaction, Explainable AI, Human-Centered AI and the collaboration between human and intelligent interactive systems, as well as the assessment of the impact of Artificial Intelligence within heterogeneous socio-technical contexts and organizations.I am also involved in didactical and organizational activities within the Laboratory and the research group, as well as serving as a tutor and thesis co-supervisor of a team of intern students and graduate candidates, from the bachelor course in Computer Science and the master courses in Artificial Intelligence for Science and Technology, Data Science and Theory and Technology of Communication.Main topics covered: Academic and Scientific Research, Human-Centered AI, Human-AI Interaction, Interaction Quality Assessment, Explainable AI, Conversational AI User-driven Evaluation, Didactics, Academic Tutoring and Thesis Supervision

I have been selected as Adjunct Professor at the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication of the University of Milano-Bicocca and I am in charge of lecturing and teaching activities in the course of "Human-System Interaction" for the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, as well as invited co-lecturer in the Human-Computer Interaction course for Bachelor of Science students in Computer Science. Since March 2024, I have also been selected as tutor for teaching support in the course of "Fuzzy Systems and Evolutionary Computing" for the B.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence. The "Human-System Interaction" course (B.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence) is specifically and strongly focused on the emerging discipline of Human-AI Interaction, with the aim to present the key concepts, paradigms and guidelines in order to explore how such challenging and growing approaches can be applied to design and evaluate effective and engaging intelligent interactive systems from a responsible, human-centered and user-driven perspective.The new Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence is an international, interdisciplinary and inter-university degree course of the University of Milano-Bicocca, the University of Milan and the University of Pavia. It is an innovative and high-level unique educational path, in line with the best universities in the world (including Amsterdam, Munich, Berlin, Oxford, MIT, Harvard, Imperial College London, Columbia University, and Stanford). The Bachelor degree encompasses a wide range of disciplines and fields, ranging from engineering to physics, from computer science to philosophy, from statistics to mathematics, from law to psychology, from neuroscience to logic.As an Adjunct Professor, I also deal with didactical, organizational and service activities for students and graduate candidates, including tutoring, advisoring, thesis co-supervision, as well as participating in the academic and institutional activities of the Department.

I was chosen and nominated co-lecturer for the course “Python for Social Simulation”, at the Advanced School in Artificial Intelligence, Brain, Mind & Society, organized by the Institute for Cognitive Sciences and Techologies (ISTC) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) and by the CNR spin-off company "AI2Life" srl. My involvement as a Lecturer and Faculty Member started by the academic year 2022-2023, for the 5th edition of the School. The postgraduate course I deal with is focused on Computational Social Science and Complex Social Systems, specifically on the design, modelling and simulation methodologies and approaches for complex social systems, with an inherently and holistically interdisciplinary approach.Topics covered in the course:1) Design, modeling and development of complex social systems and socio-cultural phenomena (with a focus on opinion dynamics, consensus formation and socio-political emergent phenomena). 2) Design, modeling and development of complex systems in heterogeneous disciplinary and computational domains (economics, biology, ethology).The "Advanced School in Artificial Intelligence, Brain, Mind and Society" is a postgraduate Advanced School designed to meet the fast-growing demand of the job market for new skills and competences related to Artificial Intelligence and relevant for the economy, research system, public administration, and society. The School aims to form a new generation of highly specialised professionals and researchers in the innovative fields of AI and Machine Learning and of computational modelling of brain, artificial and natural behaviors, and society. As a selected Research Associate (in the role of Medical Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Decision-Support Designer), I am in charge of the research project "MeTaReL”, at the Center of Functional Genomics and Rare Diseases of the ASST Fatebenefratelli-Sacco (Italian Lombardy Region). The research project is aimed at designing, developing and evaluating Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methodologies and techiques for empowering the metabolic diseases screening and prediction processes.The key competences are related to data science, artificial intelligence and biostatistics, as well as requirement analysis, knowledge management and organizational topics. I was Business Strategist & AI Researcher, as well as Executive PhD Candidate in Computer Science at University of Milan Bicocca, in the research areas of Artificial Intelligence, Decision System and Knowledge Management. My professional role in the company and private research centre was focused on all strategic, tactical and operational levels: I was in charge of both business, strategic and operational management, and to R&D management and research activities for AI systems modelling. From the business perspective, the main focus was related to management and coordination of business and communication team. Therefore, I dealt with the whole management of business and strategy development, communication and marketing, fundraising, as well as tactical and operational management for the company products and projects, significantly contributing in the company and research centre growth in the market.From the research perspective, I dealt with research management and R&D team coordination for AI research projects related to the evolution of the main product, WhoTeach, a digital learning and educational platform endowned with AI, supporting teachers and experts in developing and managing customized learning and training paths by aggregating and disseminating knowledge created and updated by experts.Specifically, my research activities were focused on the modelling and design of the AI system, as well as on the R&D management of the related team. I collaborated with the communication advisor Davide Greco in his own media intelligence consultancy activities. Our current clients included important banks and investment funds as well as large and medium-sized businesses in both the private and public sectors.In particular, I dealt with the quantitative modelling of innovative metrics to complement and empower the traditional qualitative consultancy. Based on an accurate requirements analysis and built upon the unique consultant’s cognitive mechanisms and evaluation structures in analyzing news and market, our indexes allowed our clients to gain deeper and multi-perspective insights.Therefore, they lead to reduce uncertainty in decision-making processes thanks to a structured and quantitative analysis of the information given by financial news.Our further aim was to develop an integrated platform for strategic media intelligence, encompassing data integration, business intelligence and data visualization tools.

As a Master's Degree student, I acquired theoretical and computational competences in the fields of Physics of Complex Systems and Computational Physics for Systems Modelling throughout the intense Master of Science offered by the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) in collaboration with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).I gained both disciplinary skills and meta-competences, as well as interdisciplinary insights involvingComplex Systems science.Thus I got the necessary methodological and modeling instrument to study, analyse and simulate the behavior of a wide range of heterogeneous systems. Examples range from phase transitions in the self-organized behavior of neurons in the brain to the complex cooperative phenomena in ant colonies, human cities or social and political structures. My Master thesis allowed me to focus on the effect of applying Complexity Theory to Computational Social Science: it revolved around a theoretical and computational study of opinion dynamics and emergent behaviors for consensus formation in the noisy Voter Model with contrarian agents.

I worked with Accento, a former financial communication and media intelligence company, from October 2015, when I started this collaboration in order to develop my master thesis in Management Engineering.My close collaboration with Davide Greco, the Founder and CEO of Accento, allowed me to gain insight of the financial communication and media intelligence mechanisms.My master thesis (in collaboration with the Department of Management Engineering and the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano) revolved around an interdepartmental research aimed at developing an application of artificial intelligence and data mining techniques in finance: the research I conducted dealt with the creation of a data mining system for financial media intelligence and strategic decision-making processes. I carried out this work with my advisor Letizia Tanca and her group of researchers. We also partecipated in a seminar by IBM on semantic technologies and cognitive computing. Following that, we wrote a paper that has been evaluated in a peer-review process.Activities: collaboration in systemic and conceptual design of a data mining software for media intelligence and in elaborating a start-up business model.
