I work as a Data Geoscientist at Geowellex developing research and practical applications based on Data Science and Machine Learning technologies in the Oil and Gas Industry in partnership with Repsol-Sinopec Brasil. I'm responsible both for the data and machine learning (model development) pipelines. Currently, I'm learning about MLOps so I can assure product quality and assist with agile deployment of models. The main lines of research include deep learning and machine learning applied to interpreted lithology with mud logging data, drilling optimization and bit wear prediction, synthetic logs generation, and formation evaluation.

I provide support in Brazil for the Interactive Petrophysics (IP) and Interactive Correlations (IC) softwares on behalf of Lloyd's Register Digital Products.

My research seeks to develop deep learning models based on convolutional neural networks using the U-Net architecture capable of assisting in the mapping of karstified zones imaged through GPR surveys. Moreover, explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques using SHapley additive exPlanation (SHAP) values are applied to improve the interpretability and explainability of the generated models. These techniques are employed in order to assess the rules found by the models, the modeling quality and the presence of biases in the model.
