Ph.D. in Political Science from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp, Brazil) and M.A. in International Relations from the Sao Paulo State University (UNESP, Brazil). Associate Professor at the Federal University of Paraiba (UFPB, Brazil) and Visiting Professor at University Nur (Bolivia). Member of Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC, Switzerland) and Urban Violence Research Network (UVRN, United Kingdom).During his career, has provided political consulting expertise to tech companies in USA, legislative representatives in Brazil, and the Brazilian National Public Administration School (ENAP) on issues like public security, political forecasting, and foreign policy. Also, has been invited for public hearings in Brazilian Federal Chamber of Representatives (Câmara dos Deputados). His media participations include interviews and comments to The Economist, The New York Times, BBC World News, DW, and several Brazilian media outlets. He was also a Visiting Researcher at the University of Manchester (UK), Uppsala University (Sweden), University of Sao Paulo (Brazil), and Universität Vechta (Germany). His articles have been published in top journals, including the International Studies Perspectives, Journal of Intervention and Statebuilding, Latin American Research Review, and Trends in Organized Crime.
