I joined Future Fibres Rigging Systems in September 2012, just after completing my University studies in the UK. My main responsibility is to drive the design and engineering of each of the opportunites which have been confirmed with the customers. My role in the business requires a strong input within the technical sales department, in order to assist the sales team and network into building new leads and opportunities in markets such as: Custom cruise, Performance cruise and the Grand Prix sectors with an emphasis and drive into the Mini Maxi, TP52 and RC44 classes. Based in Kiel (Germany), Upffront GmbH started in October 2013 and has been set up to distribute standardised composite products, worldwide, manufactured by Future Fibres aiming to supply rigging solutions for sailing boats in the range of 35-60 ft. Upffront GmbH offers the opportunity for the customer to order high performance rigging via a online configurator, which can then be delivered directly from stock offering the fastest possible leadtime.My role in this company was to analyze and design the range of standard products aimed at the specific markets, which involved a parametric analysis of more than 6,000 custom and performance sailing vessels in order to identify suitable rigging specifications such as the maximum expected working loads and lengths.The main purpose of this online based company, is to offer high performance rigging at fixed standard prices without the need to involve a project manager and a sales man, hence the customer will be guided through a user friendly online configurator through every step.
