As the child of working-class Mexican immigrants, I experienced firsthand how systemic racial and economic inequalities produce chronic racism and poverty in communities of color. My background fuels my passion to lead action-oriented social science research and culturally responsive education that improves the lives of working and immigrant communities. Racial and economic justice are foundational to my systems change work. I am an experienced DEI leader with a demonstrated history of conducting mixed-methods social science research and expertise in labor and labor movements, racial equity, immigrant communities, Latinx and Indigenous peoples, environmental racism, and food systems. My skill set includes strategic planning, project management, organizational capacity building, academic and philanthropic grant writing, thought partnership, team leadership, applied research and program evaluation, and training as a practitioner of diversity, equity and inclusion principles. I look forward to connecting with prospective employers and clients. I can be reached at marcosfrlopez@gmail.com.
