PhD in Telecommunications. Engineer specialized in Signal Processing Techniques for Physical Layer Communications. Technical background in Satellite Communications, Statistical Signal Processing, Synchronization, Estimation, Applications of Dirty Paper Coding.In May 2010 I switched to the other side of the lab's door, to develop partnerships, promote and raise funds for one of the coolest ICT RTOs this side of the Milky Way (Gradiant). During this time I have coordinated 1 FP7 project (LIFTGATE), and I have participated in or provided in-house support to 6 FP7 projects (SIGNED, BATS, PRIPARE, FIWARE, CAESARIS, MAVEN) and 3 H2020 projects (SEERS, WITDOM, CREATE-IoT).I have also represented and coordinated Gradiant's acivities in several Technology Alliances and European Technology Platforms: NetWorld2020, NEM, NESSI, Biometrics Institute, Net!Works, ISI. Since 2015 I have been intensely involved in the Alliance of Internet of Things Innovation (AIOTI) providing support to the Chair of AIOTI Working Group 06 (Smart farming and Food Security).Specialties: ICT stuff in general (big data, 5G, IoT, radio networks, Biometrics, Cloud, eHealth), EU research & innovation policies, EU research & innovation programmes (FP7, CIP, H2020), Regional innovation strategies, Smart Farming & Agrifood.
