Together with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), European DIGITAL SME Alliance formed a Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The JRC, through its AI WATCH activity, is monitoring the development, uptake and impact of AI in Europe as foreseen in the EU Coordinated Plan on Artificial Intelligence adopted in December 2018. As part of its role, it is seeking close feedback from AI intensive companies to monitor the adoption of AI technologies in relation with the impact of EU initiatives on the topic.The Joint Focus Group on AI will help DIGITAL SME and the JRC to understand the adoption, use, and impacts over time of AI and related technologies (robotics, automation in general, machine learning, etc.). The Focus Group will work together to define the current state of adoption and use of AI, and to follow over the next 3 to 5 years how and what changes through the introduction of tools linked to AI (for example how management change and data integration, production, support or management processes), and the social and economic impacts of these changes (e.g. skills, recruitment, employers-workers relations).
