Switch IT Solutions is an all-round IT service provider for Hollands's top 100 companies. For the past 2 years I have been a monitoring specialist here. We monitor more than 1500 servers. I help to onboard new clients, which ranges from scanning their environment to setting up systems, thresholds, and creating and sending periodical reports to the customer. When certain alerts, triggers or errors arise, I take the appropriate action to resolve these. This can be increasing resources to a system, renewing a license, reviewing and installing updates, and so forth. Some of the tools I use during my job are Kaseya, PRTG, nCentral, LibreNMS, Ivanti/RES, Veeam and VMware.

As second line systems administrator, I have handled tickets that are escalated by the first line helpdesk and onsite support engineers. Analyzing each incident or notification, and taking appropriate steps, which can include troubleshooting and fixing issues, or escalating if the issue exceeds my permissions or knowledge. I have also been responsible for trend analysis, to signal and deal with recurring issues, and notify the appropriate departments of regarding potential major incidents as they are developing.Designing and generating reports for upper management were also part of my job. My two main clients were the Ministry of Infrastructure and Capgemini.

DockLink is a major player when it comes to Document Management Systems (DMS). As system administrator, I was entrusted with the entire IT environment for this client. Ordering and managing hardware and software inventory, preparing and applying updates or patches, designing and managing GPO throughout the organization, and helping employees with any IT related questions or issues they may have. Server patch management, endpoint lifecycle management and monitoring of all network and systems activity were all part of my job requirements.

Almelo

For the city of Almelo I have been involved in application management, which included both functional and technical management. For its 2000 employees and numerous internal and common applications I maintained data integrity, ensured smooth and timely updates, answered questions for end users and system administrators, and performed troubleshooting incidents that occurred. Next to this, I also reviewed and processed standard and non-standard changes, I wrote and updated instructions and documentation, and provided relevant stakeholders with reports.
