Dr. Marc A. Sengstacke has a diverse and extensive career providing leadership, experience and professional expertise for operating, evolving and expanding organizations. He was Coordinator of the 2014 Bud Billiken ® Parade, a position he held previously. He led the transfer of TV production of the Bud Billiken ® Parade broadcast to the Charities with support from WLS-TV and developed contingency plans for the possible participation of President Obama in the parade.Dr. Sengstacke has worked with the Illinois Institute of Technology as a Capstone Team Sponsor to develop a plan for recycling organic waste in a way that revitalizes the economy in urban settings. He has led teams of students, professors, staff and community members.Dr. Sengstacke was appointed Assistant Director, Cook County Department of Environmental Control by the late Honorable John Stroger, former Cook County Board President, in November 2004. He was second in command with responsibilities ranging from internal operations to department expansion.Previously, Dr. Sengstacke worked for the Chicago Defender where he was Coordinator of the Bud Billiken ® Parade and arranged for youth to meet and interview top TV and radio personalities. He also worked for the U.S. space program where he developed spacecraft simulation software and generated extensive studies.Dr. Sengstacke was awarded the Certificate of Congratulations from Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White (2004) and was keynote speaker for the Chicago Fire Department Unity Luncheon (2004).
