My focus and enjoyment in my professional career is leading organizations through change. I enjoy the transformation process whether this is due to growth or the need to revitalize; or reorganize. Successful transformation entails: leadership development/change management / organizational restructuring/ strategic planning / managing through systems/ turnaround / organizational development and a Record Of Success. My military experience taught me that the key to successful organizations is effective leadership and always maintaining personal and professional principals; which involves self sacrifice and the ability to keep pushing the boundaries of my knowledge and work experience -- advice that has served me well throughout my career which has encompassed: strategic & tactical planning, multi-site responsibility, quality management, creating and maintaining effective labor and employee relations work environments, recruiting, benefits, compensation compliance and negotiating win-win outcomes whenever possible. A lesson I learned from my dad was that the difference between good and great is the added effort. Because of his lesson I pursued my Masters in Health Services Management prior to my entering Corporate America and later received my M.S. in Management of Technology which further increased my business acumen. Because of this I am a continual learner and believe every professional must continue to grow.Through my work experience with Billerud, Verso, AGC, ProBuild, Daikin, Int. Paper, and the US Army I have gained a broad functional HR generalist background in plant, functional and corporate leadership roles. Working in these diverse industries has allowed me to gain extensive functional and business knowledge in Collective Bargaining, Labor Relations, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Organizational Alignment, Training, Development Strategy, Negotiations, Recruiting and Compliance. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, golf, history, travel, and volunteering.
