Organization formed in 2021 through the successful combination of Tufts Health Plan and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, two nationally recognized health plans offering a diversified set of products (Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid) across five-state region of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Company has $9.3 billion in revenue and 2.2 million members. As Chief Operating Officer, led the organization’s operations, technology, health care service, and corporate data and analytics functions for the newly merged company. Oversaw ~60% of the organization (3,500 of 5,500 FTEs). Created a 5-year integration roadmap for COO functions producing administrative synergies of $42 million. Oversaw negotiation of new PBM contract producing cumulative savings of 12-16% for the organization over a 3-year period. Directed creation of a long-term operations and technology strategy, establishing vision for a high performing, cost-effective organization with optimal use of outsourcing capabilities.
