Marc Taddei is the Music Director of the Vallejo Symphony in California and Orchestra Wellington in New Zealand. Prior to this he was Music Director of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra in New Zeland. He is sought after by every professional orchestra in New Zealand and is a frequent guest conductor of the major Australian orchestras. His innovative programming has raised the profile of his orchestras and audience numbers have dramatically increased. In addition to his work with Australasian orchestras, Marc has conducted the Symphony Orchestras of Oregon, Richmond, Fort Worth and New Haven, the Louisiana Philharmonic, the Eugene and Southwest Florida Symphonies, the Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong and the Silesian State Opera in the Czech Republic. He frequently works with Opera New Zealand and the Royal New Zealand Ballet, and has appeared with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Anne Sophie von Otter, Julian Lloyd Webber, Horacio Gutierrez, Simon O’Neill, Helen Callus, Angela Brown, Joshua Redman, Jonathan Lemalu, Pedro Carniero, Joanna MacGregor, Diana Krall and Art Garfunkle among many other diverse artists. Marc made his debut with the New York City Ballet in 2012 and was subsequently re-engaged to conduct the following year.Marc's discography includes over thirty recordings on labels such as Sony, ABC, BMG, Universal, Columbia and ASV. He has received rave reviews in Gramophone, Classic FM, Strad magazines and the American Record Guide, and awards such as Classical Album of the Year in 2007 and a double platinum CD in 2004.Marc conducted a film based on Wagner's Ring Cycle, which won the Prix de Basle Special Jury Award for the "most outstanding contribution to European culture in television".
