I am an aspiring UX Designer in the process of completing Google's UX Design Certificate program. Throughout the course of the program, I have learned to move through the design process from start to finish, while increasing my knowledge in standard industry tools such as Figma and Adobe XD. I've also had the opportunity to complete several projects designing mobile apps and and responsive website for social good.Prior to exploring the world of UX design, I spent the previous 12 years in the education industry. I currently work as a high school teacher, certified in teaching multiple subjects while simultaneously making the transition to the UX industry.My path throughout the field of education has equipped me with an array of transferrable skills that have proven useful in my new field of study. I've become an expert at organizing and disseminating information through public speaking. My experience in working with a diverse population of students in the classroom has given me the ability to empathize with an array of individuals, all while producing work with accessibility in mind. My work in the industry has also required me to remain agile, adapting to evolving standards and situations as they present themselves. All this experience has already begun to serve me well in my transition to UX by helping me work through user journeys, pain points, and problem statements.Looking into my transition to a new field, I believe my past experience coupled with my emerging skills will allow me to do what UX designers are meant to do best: create products that delight users while keeping their needs in mind!
