Marcus A. Roberts has worked in higher education and mental health for the last 20 years. At Western Carolina University, he worked as a residence hall director and at Pfeiffer University as the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residence Life and Judicial Affairs. He taught student leadership and development to first-year resident assistants at both universities. In addition, he has worked for both the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Public Safety in leadership positions, as well as for several nonprofit organizations.He most recently worked as the residential services director for the Irene Wortham Center, an organization committed to creating and providing programs, resources, and services to help the less fortunate, in addition to assisting with their new capital campaign to raise money for a new Early Learning Center on campus. He is resolutely committed to unconditional outreach to a culturally diverse population with integrity and excellence.He has a Bachelor of Science in education from Western Carolina University, a Master of Science in leadership and organizational change from Pfeiffer University, a Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University College of Theology and Ministry, and is currently working on a Doctorate of Ministry at the Gardner-Webb University School of Divinity.He is the author of two books from the Thoughts for Your Day series. From an eclectic blend of personal, professional, and ministerial experience, he addresses the key to developing an effective life. That key is predicated on the cultivation of an effective thought life.
