I had responsibility for Life Insurance, Non-life insurance and Misc. Fins, being one of relatively few analysts able to cover multiple sectors. Highlights included coverage of Just Group - including winning brokerage in 2016, detailed analysis, finding new investors as private equity sold down 50% over 2017-18 and a placing in 2019. Worked on Initial Public Offerings. I wrote IPO research for Finablr (owner of Travelex) in 2019. I was secondary analyst in the IPO of AJ Bell and Argentex. In addition to Just Group plc, I was analyst on companies that Numis was broker to, including: Burford Capital, TP ICAP, Charles Taylor and IG Group. I ensured that these companies were receiving regular coverage, and worked closely with investor relations to provide appropriate communication with shareholders and other investors. I also covered Phoenix, L&G, CMC Markets, Rathbone Brothers, Brooks Macdonald, Brewin Dolphin, and NEX Group. In addition, I took over coverage Hiscox, Beazely, Lancashire, Saga, Randall & Quilter, Direct Line, eSure, Hastings and Sabre while a colleague took an extended sabbatical.
