Leader of program managers and support staff implementing technical assistance and outreach programs associated with cooperative development, land retention and rural development advocacy with African American farmers/landowners in the West Alabama Black Belt and across the U.S. South. Wrote and reviewed approximately $2.6 million dollars in funding proposals to federal, state and local government agencies, particularly of the U. S. Department of Agriculture; private foundations, church denominations, corporations, cooperatives and individual donors. Of written proposals, $1.9 million dollars have been awarded. Developed outreach and cooperative training programs with other social and economic justice organizations in Alabama and neighboring states, to further the goals and mission of the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund.Managed 8 structured facilities, farm demonstration projects, rural multi-family housing subdivision, and the Alabama State Association of Cooperatives

Working with the organization’s National Graduate Student President and President-Elect, the Graduate Student Parliamentarian recruits new student officers whose vision aligns with the organization. The Graduate Student Parliamentarian shall be proficient with Parliamentary procedure, rule on all questions of parliamentary conduct at chapter/national meetings, serve as a participant or an ex-officio member of the parliamentary procedure, conduct parliamentary procedure workshops at the local/national level, serve as ex-officio member on the conduct of meetings committee , prepare visual presentations for Graduates students and keep in possession a copy of Robert's Rules of Order, our Constitution and By-Laws at all times. The Graduate Student Parliamentarian assists with developing and implementing initiatives to recruit new student chapters and members, to retain existing student chapters and members, and to reactivate inactive student chapters and members in the regions they represent. The Graduate Student Parliamentarian will work with their regional Undergraduate and Graduate Student Vice President in the region of which they hold local chapter membership to plan and implement their region’s cluster meeting.

Integral part of grant writing team and researched policies affecting limited resource farmers and animal husbandry. Conducted community and economic development workshops on alternative enterprises and building networks at the Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum at Historic Palmer Memorial Institute. Assisted supervisor with presentations for US Department of Agriculture- Farm Service Agency, Risk Management Agency, and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service on ruminant operations and premise and animal identification information sessions with small and limited resource farmers. Conducted field demonstrations on tagging, retinal scanning, and best practices for cattle, goat, and sheep farmers at North Carolina A&T State University Farm, and plasticulture farming with the Oklahoma Black Historical Research Project Farmers Cooperative, Inc. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Also, participated in listening session in Epes, Alabama and regional small farmer conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Coordinated collaborative conference events with North Carolina A&T State University’s Small Farms Week and small and limited resource farmers across North Carolina.
