Monitoring and AnalysisTier 1 Malware Analysis

• Adheres to 12 FAM 590 policies and procedures when handling Department of State malicious cyber events.• Maintains cyber security situational awareness and prepared incident reports of analysis methodology and results.• Collaborates with overseas posts ISSO’s to prevent unauthorized access to Department of State network..• Detects, monitors and resolves inappropriate, incorrect, or anomalous activity.• Accountable for enforcing and reporting policies and procedures on help desk metrics as well as meeting defined SLAs.• Prepare and send world-wide schedule outages, notifications and advisories to all domestic and overseas posts as well as utilize escalation procedures if needed.• Establish and maintain a service oriented culture for all help desk responsibilities.• Participate in and be available for 24 x 7 shift support.• Utilized troubleshooting skills and other support documentation to identify, isolate, diagnose and resolve user technical problem and provide information and status as requested. • Boost and maintain the overall morale of the Swing Shift.• Assists with direct remediation of vulnerable systems from Department of State network working with desktop support to ensure containment. • Collaborates with the US Computer Emergency Response Team (US CERT) sharing information regarding spear phishing, personal identifiable information, keylogger, and malicious attachment events to distribute to multiple agencies.• Advanced knowledge of various types of malicious cyber security attacks and the countermeasures that are used to prevent them. • Works closely with management/government staff to provide updates on escalations, outages, and additional issues that would occur.• Prioritizes CIRT reported events to be resolved in order of highest threat level.• Supports and evaluates the effectiveness of installed security IDS/IPS application tools before enterprise implementation.
