I have worked in the wastewater industry since 2009 which has grown my passion for environmental protection whilst delivering an efficient and reliable service.My career has been solely in wastewater treatment covering the operation of wastewater treatment works including anaerobic digestion on a sludge treatment centre.I gained some good experience in Health & Safety while on a 6-month secondment.Main duties included risk assessing simple and complex tasks, writing task safety instructions and hazard spotting for site improvements. This experience grew my interest and skill in health and safety and helped me in learning to be meticulous when managing contractors working on site to keep everyone safe and working efficiently.After the health & safety work, I was chosen to undertake a level 4 diploma in water industry operations & management which massively grew my skill and understanding on a wide range of departments within the industry.I am very interested in the wastewater industry and enjoy learning about new technology and techniques that come along to improve how the industry can perform to provide a better service.My passion is for the environment and nature which ties in well with my role as I work to keep the environment clean on a daily basis.Due to my interest in nature and the natural world, I would love to have a position that involved biodiversity and habitat restoration as this would align great with my main passion. I also have a real interest in renewable energy and this ties in well with the wastewater industry as lots of the skills are transferable so it's a path I would love to explore.
