In my role directing activities related to culturally specific organizations, I have spearheaded efforts to represent and empower diverse communities including African, African American, Asian, Latino, Middle Eastern and North African, Native American, Pacific Islander, and Slavic communities. With a keen focus on advocacy, research/environmental justice, and leadership development, I have overseen organizational growth and program development to address systemic issues and foster positive change.One of my key achievements has been expanding our staff from 4 to 15 members and increasing revenue from $600K+ to $5.5M+ over five years. This significant growth has strengthened our organization's capacity and enabled us to have a greater impact on the communities we serve.Central to our mission has been addressing socioeconomic disparities, institutional racism, and service inequities that affect families, children, and communities. Through grassroots organizing and collective action, we have worked tirelessly to empower individuals and communities to advocate for their rights and achieve self-determination, wellness, justice, and prosperity.In addition to our direct service efforts, I have focused on cultivating strategic partnerships and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to support collective action for social change. Building Power for Communities of Color (BPCC) is a 501(c)(4) entity that is affiliated with the Coalition of Communities of Color (CCC). This social welfare designation allows BPCC to strategically focus on advancing policy and supporting elected officials that are attuned to the needs of the community it serves. BPCC, and through my leadership and that of its Board, has been instrumental in supporting candidates, influencing policy, and driving critical change in Oregon.

Notable clients have included the Portland African American Leadership Forum, Duke University Medical Center, the Oregon Anesthesiology Group, the Portland Development Commission (PDC), and Portland METRO. My focus has been on delivering tailored, high-impact consulting services to each client, ensuring strategic engagement on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.One of my key responsibilities has been directing hiring processes for crucial leadership roles, which has contributed significantly to organizational growth and stability. By identifying and onboarding talented individuals, such as the new Director and Leadership Program coordinator, we've strengthened our organizational leadership and positioned ourselves for continued success.In addition to talent acquisition, I've provided executive leadership support, ensuring seamless transitions for board members and community stakeholders. One of my primary achievements has been the development and administration of comprehensive HIPAA Privacy and Security training for over 9,000 employees and clinicians. By equipping our team with the necessary knowledge and tools, we've significantly enhanced regional compliance standards and mitigated risks associated with patient data privacy and security.To meet the unique needs of our region, I spearheaded the design and implementation of a robust regional compliance office, tailored to serve the 500,000 regional members and 8 million national members. This initiative not only reinforced our commitment to regulatory compliance but also optimized our ability to address region-specific challenges and requirements.Central to our success has been the expansion of the compliance team from 2 to 26 professionals. One of my key areas of focus has been optimizing Third Party Reimbursement processes to maximize revenue streams.At Duke University Medical Center, I spearheaded initiatives that led to a remarkable increase in net revenue by $16.4 million. This achievement was a result of strategic interventions aimed at streamlining operations, identifying revenue opportunities, and implementing effective reimbursement strategies.Furthermore, I've worked diligently to enhance net revenue and cash flow for healthcare clients while minimizing collection costs. Through strategic analysis of front-end operations, we identified areas for improvement and implemented changes to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and increase revenue capture.By leveraging my expertise in financial analysis and healthcare operations, I've been able to deliver tangible results for clients, helping them achieve greater financial stability and success in a highly competitive healthcare landscape. In my role as the first Treasurer for this Colorado. based health system, I developed a cash management system for cash, investments and operations at the inception of the creation of a new Hospital and Health Authority. The city public health system and hospital transitioned from a city-based system to a separate health authority to avail itself of reimbursement opportunities previously limited. In doing so, managed cash flow for old system and new system simultaneously, managed banking relationships, and influenced selection of money managers for the entity.
