After graduating from Northern Michigan University in 1992, I worked in restaurants in lower-level management. In 1995 I left that industry to work at the Daily News in Iron Mountain, MI. While there, I won two Michigan Press Association awards for creative ad layout. From there, beginning in 1999 I worked in the airline industry for several carriers, at one point managing a small staff at Iron Mountain's Ford Airport.In 2003, I took a job as the night auditor at the Best Western hotel in Ishpeming, Michigan's Country Village Resort. In 2004, the controller for the resort had an opening in the accounting department. This was the beginning of my payroll career, in which I have worked for the last 20 years.Although I have much payroll, accounts payable and cash receipt experience and am not opposed to continuing in that field, I am open to new opportunities. Currently, I am working for a non-profit, but I want to return to working in the for-profit world. I am particularly interested in working for a manufacturing company because I steadfastly believe that manufacturing is what builds the middle class and makes our nation strong.
