In the mining sector, I contributed to the proposal and coding of robust mathematical programming, supporting the development of an ILS heuristic and an interactive chart tool used for result evaluation. This project was completed within a six-month timeframe, and the outcomes demonstrated the potential to reduce annual demurrage costs by 20%. In the oil and gas industry, I led research and development efforts and proposed mathematical programming related to subsea layouts for offshore oilfield exploration. I coordinated the development of a customized web platform over a one-year initiative, building it from scratch. This platform handles project inputs, optimizes subsea layouts, and provides project alternatives based on CAPEX, OPEX, and TRL. Additionally, I developed an efficient heuristic solution method for the problem, which operates within a computational cluster environment. The tool can generate and evaluate millions of project alternatives within a significantly reduced computational time.

I supported the elaboration of two winning proposals for a proof-of-concept development and an open innovation challenge. These two proposals are related to: (i) Vessel scheduling - Robust mathematical programming (under uncertainties on supply and berth capacity) to minimize demurrage and operating costs; and (ii) Offshore oilfield exploration - Matrix of project alternatives and subsea layouts.
