My fascination with gadgets and electronics started very early with me dismantling all my toys to figure out how they worked, sometimes I even put them back together! My first job in the industry back in grade 10 was working at my local Dick Smiths store, I got the job because in the managers words "I spent more time in the store than his staff".From the beginning of my apprenticeship in 2009 and right up until I left Airbus some 12 years later I was given the opportunity to be a project lead for many of the block upgrade projects conducted in support of the RAAF P3 Orion. These projects included systems such as radar, radios, navigation and electronic surveillance. I spent a short time with Boeing on the P8 Posseidon flight simulators but ultimately my interest in all things RF lead me to look for something more.Oh yeah and at some point in time I found myself in management, I run a small team here in Adelaide but I coordinate deployments around the country, manage HR issues, project manage our R&D tasks and do all of that management type stuff. Our project has grown from a small, predictable and regular earner to a sizable and exciting challenge and I have loved every step of growing it.I'm not your typical manager, I'm not uni qualified, my keyboard has RGB lighting and I love to lead people who are working with really cool cutting edge tech. And... I can wear a suit and be all corporate when I need to.
