Marcus has over 30 years experience in the aviation industry. Originally working in hands on operational roles for the world's largest airport company he held senior commercial roles managing the retail shops across the BAA group of airports. Marcus left BAA to take on the "turn around" of London Luton Airport for Barclays Venture Capital as Commercial Director on the Main Board. Within 2 years through a combination of traffic growth, renegotiating airline terms, transformation of the commercial offer and a radical plan for efficiency improvements, the asset was sold to an existing shareholder (TBI plc) realising over an 80% IRR for Barclays. Working for Macquarie Bank Marcus built a significant portfolio of airport acquisitions to create one of the world's largest Airport Infrastructure businesses. Marcus spent 6 years with GE leading their airport business and creating a wide portfolio of investments including London City Airport and Gatwick (through a founding and general partner position in Global Infrastructure Partners), airport property and cargo companies across the US (Lynxs) and Sweden (Nordic Airport Properties), a global debt portfolio, and a leading Aviation consulting practice (Aviasolutions). Marcus has led many bids across the globe for GE providing him with deep experience and insights in infrastructure investing in Russia, China, India and the Americas.Marcus formed Apricor to help support Infrastructure and private equity investors identify appropriate targets, establish achievable and prudent acquisition business plans, and provide a transition and execution plan for value creation.He joined InterVISTAS in 2015 to lead the team outside the Americas. In May 2018 he founded Skylark Consulting Group with his partner Kenneth Currie to support investors, and airports achieve their corporate goals.Marcus studied at Bristol University for his Honours Degree (BSc) and received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Surrey.
