I started in new build housing and industrial building which I did for many years and this is where I learnt my trade, starting my own company M A Clark Brickwork in 2002. In 2005 I started sub contracting for a local company that was responsible for the maintenance and expansion of many of the Brewery Shepherd and Neam Public Houses, many of which were Grade I and II listed. This ignited my passion for working on the restoration of older buildings. I undertook a masterclass in Heritage Brickwork Skills, training under the expertise of the world renowned brickwork historian Dr Gerard Lynch Phd, and this resulted in me starting my own company, Heritage Brickwork Restoration in February 2014.Heritage Brickwork Restoration take great pride in restoring historic buildings to their original condition and creating new buildings using traditional methods, materials and craftsmanship that has been passed down through three generations of bricklayers.Working in traditional materials, the company uses long established building techniques to restore period property to their former glory. Much of the company’s work comes through recommendation and reputation.Heritage Brickwork Restoration are now considered to be one of the leading lime mortar brickwork specialists.
