I am the Director of the Capability Delivery Directorate at the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, United States Department of Defense. In this capacity I lead a large staff of military officers, civilians, and contractors in the development of breakthrough artificial intelligence applications for critical warfighting functions for the U.S. Department of Defense. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University. My research focuses on artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer and wireless networking (with a focus on 5G wireless networks), distributed computing, computer vision, sparse coding, technology policy, and using these tools to help people. I was formerly also a Non-Resident Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
