Asset Management Specialist
CurrentFunctions as the service providers' technical expert in the management of centralized inventory functions and provides services in support of inventory control, property utilization and accountability including those with automated or manual supply accounting systems. Conducts inventory research to identify root causes, trends of inventory discrepancies/adjustment, maintains inventory trend charts, and provide corrective action recommendations as needed. Performs various assignments related to personal property management including a working knowledge of property policies and procedures; analysis and evaluation of the property program; and quality control and quality assurance of data entry involving property maintained in the property asset system ServiceNow. Familiar with government personal and real property regulations, policies, guides, audits, and directives relating to asset management, statutes, transfer, disposal, management, and inventory. Analyze and evaluate property management functions for compliance with applicable regulations and policies, compiling reports and/or records of various property transactions and assisting in recommending and developing new or revised directives, policies, implementing instructions and standard operating procedures for program, administrative, and property support staff. Utilize life cycle asset management systems and software including data input, processing adjustments and corrections and creating and retrieval of reports. Work with personal computers to search for records, input data, extract reports, identifying errors and keep property accountability records current and accurate. Reviews and annotates property records, excess and surplus property reports. Composes correspondence and answers inquiries based on all property records findings. Provides information on property disposal procedures, regulations, and practices. The work performed requires the use of automated disposal and/or supply software systems.
