Current1. Contribute to Farm Bureau's financial success by accurately determining if losses are covered under existing policies. This involves reviewing claim reports and verifying applicable insurance coverage.2. Project a positive image by fairly and efficiently negotiating and settling assigned claims with all customers.3. Conduct thorough investigations to ensure that claims leadership has accurate claim information. This includes calling or writing insureds, claimants, agents, and witnesses, ordering police reports, engaging the services of an appraiser, and referring claims out of the department for outside investigation if necessary.4. Assure that claims are settled in accordance with regulations and policy language. This involves reviewing bills and estimates for accuracy, necessity, and reasonableness. Consideration is given to services rendered, allowable charges, and acceptable customary charges in the area. Upon review, approve and issue payment.5. Adjust or deny claims, taking into consideration deductible amounts, depreciation, policy limits, etc. Negotiate and explain decisions to insureds, claimants, agents, etc., as necessary. 6. Settle first-party claims as well as third-party property claims.7. Maintain professional and productive relationships with agents, agency managers, policyholders, and claimants within the claims department and company. Maintain a service-oriented attitude at all times and cooperate with different departments to ensure that all Farm Bureau objectives are achieved.
