Explains pharmacy functions in response to questions as well as perform medication queries such as refills or reorders for a Veteran’s medication. Track prescriptions, check status of prescriptions, and explains how to obtain refills ordered. Utilizes various software programs and websites such as Vista, Capri, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP), and many Microsoft Office programs to help resolve the Veteran’s needs. Navigates through each system to ensure valuable patient information remains secure and obtains customer information for such requirements as eligibility verification and benefit-related issues. Draft case notes, develop referrals, submit renewal requests, and document case activity to send to specified pharmacy facilities and/or physicians to ensure accurate and efficient care for the Veteran. Provides great customer service to Veterans, their families, and/or legal representatives. Communicates in clear and concise language when explaining any information or instructions about a Veteran’s request.

Worked with Dr. Webster and nursing staff to implement an effective allergy wellness update screening process to find viable patients for testing. Thorough in educating patients of the long term benefits of Immunotherapy or in other words, self administered allergy shots. Review patient’s medical history and allergy history to develop proper treatment plan. Innovative in helping patients find comfort in self-administered injections. Administer allergy tests and allergy injections according to UAS protocol. Perform proper clinical techniques involving strict aseptic protocols for specific clinical procedures to include mixing allergen immunotherapy medication for each patient, sterile transfer of allergen extracts, and filling testing wells. Ability to plan, prioritize and follow through within a given time frame for effective patient care. Responsible for maintaining and/or creating patient accounts/records within medical software program. Access accurate demographics to verify patient insurance coverage for the allergy services provided. Submit all required reports and administrative forms accurately, completely and timely. Complete quarterly inventory adjustments for the allergy clinic.
