As an Engineer at Zenith Power Products, I design and prototype engine packages. This includes air/fuel intake, exhaust, engine support and vibration isolation systems. These engines are used in pumps for irrigation, generator sets, compressors, and many other systems. I also head engineering meetings and develop ways optimize production. I started my industrial career in a dual role position at Superior Diesel as a Manufacturing Engineer and Assembly Technician. In this role, I designed production assembly jigs and tools while coming up with other ways to increase productivity. In addition, I also assembled Kohler and John Deere diesel engine packages. This position gave an advantage over other engineers as I was able to see on a daily basis, how parts fit together. It also helped me work with people on a team.Before I became involved in the engineering field used my time to become an effective leader and teacher. Working as both a math tutor and waterski instructor, I have been able to help students reach their full potential. Everyone learns differently and it is important to realize what methods are appropriate for each situation for effective communication.As a graduate of a Mechanical Engineering program, I possess strong mathematical, logic, and problem-solving skills. I have a thorough understanding of mechanical systems, thermal-fluid sciences, design, and computer programs. Additionally, I have taken many classes requiring effective oral and written communication.In addition to higher learning , I have taken the time to develop a set of hands-on skills. During my senior year of high school, I took my first manufacturing class and fell in love with making things. I wanted to learn how to use every tool in the shop and participated in five more manufacturing and pre-engineering classes. At the end of the year, I received the High School Technology Student of the Year Award for my outstanding work.I continue to have a strong passion for design and manufacturing.
