Working on a proposal about social stratification in mental health care whilst continuing in part time clinical practise

We offer a wide range of services for people who are need of help for stress related problems. We live in stressful times and too much strain can effect us in many different ways, psychologically, behaviorally and physically.As well as offering counselling and therapy for such problems, Silver Street Clinic also run Stress Management and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Courses in order to help people with busy lives to build greater resilience to stress.

Support and treatment of adults with acute mental health problems

2010 - 2013 Working with 2 projects in Essex and Surrey to resettle into a less restrictive and more enabling environment adults with learning disabilities and severe and enduring mental health problems / behavior that challenges from a variety of settings including prisons and long stay secure hospitals, so far 30 adults have been successfully integrated into a variety of setting including residential, nursing and housing with care.

My role included assessment and management of adults with multi-factorial challenging behaviors in a variety of settings both inpatient and community based, planning, implementing and evaluating evidence based care; providing specialist advice to patients, families, carers and the wider multi-disciplinary team; carrying out specialist nursing procedures and contributing to the development of the workforce through developing and delivering education and training.

Various roles from Support Worker to Staff Nurse to Charge Nurse Undertaking a variety of roles whilst working effectively and supporting multidisciplinary colleagues and actively contributing to team goals. Experience gained at senior levels within departmental management. Always enthusiastic in working in a variety of settings with challenging and complex client group with multi-factorial needs in secure open and community environments. Areas covered include acute admissions, drug and alcohol treatment, forensic and secure nursing. Duties including. Assessing the care needs of patients. Clinical co-ordination of individual and group therapies. Formulations of appropriate care plans and delivery of care co-ordination. Maintaining a safe and secure environment. The custody, storage and administration of medicines. Working with mental health service-users in a multi-professional setting. Looking after patients with severe and enduring mental illness. Performing administrative duties. The screening, assessment and follow up support of patients. Liaising with other health care professionals and social workers. Reporting to senior managers. Assisting in the supervision and development of health care assistants
