Nearly twenty years ago (after teaching at both a private college and a mid-size public university for many years), I wrote a book entitled: Beyond the Modern University: Toward a Constructive Post-modern university. Flagstaff College is our humble effort to follow the dictum of Buckminster Fuller: “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” We hope to make higher education, in its current form, obsolete, because it is not doing enough the make the world a better place for all.
