About Marcus Guyton

I have a great passion for the Music and the Electrical/Electronics field. I believe that we never stop learning about the things around us. My hobbies include playing the Piano and Acoustic Guitar in my free time, striving to be an Advanced Jazz Pianist/Guitarist with the help of formal lessons. This is one of my biggest aspirations. I someday plan to travel the world and play at beautiful venues such as, Spain or Europe as a whole. I believe my aptitude in the electrical field will benefit these aspirations of mine.In my journey in the IT field, I have a great passion to learn about new and diverse technologies. For example, in the Year Up program, we learn about hardware and software skills. Identifying components in a motherboard was tough to me until I came to to Year Up. It taught me to take notes more efficiently to remember technical terms better. Software is also fun. I learned how to use Microsoft Office applications, like creating presentations from power-point, strengthening my public speaking skills. We also change the email settings in Outlook for the appropriate recipient but I am still learning more about Excel because that one is the hardest. I am also learning the "soft skills" of the corporate world in a Business Communications course from Year Up. We learned things such as handshakes, speaking proper grammar, writing resumes correctly, networking with individuals to create a lasting bond/connection, and so much more.I plan to graduate from the Year Up program with substantial knowledge of the hard skills and the soft skills of the sharp business world and the conservatism of the IT field.
