I am an experienced and high-performing foreign policy practitioner. I have served at Australia's embassies in Thailand and Jordan (as Deputy Ambassador) and I have held management positions in multiple Australian Government agencies. I have proven my leadership in bilateral and multilateral contexts, in roles that have spanned foreign and strategic policy, trade and international law. I have built a reputation for nurturing relationships, driving cultural change and improved performance, and delivering outcomes for Australia and Australians. Achievements of which I am most proud include:➢ repurposing Australia's Pacific regional engagement around new and urgent strategic priorities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic ➢ achieving fluency in Arabic, and bringing about a step change in the way Australia works with Jordan and other partners in support of strategic and security objectives ➢ leading provision of legal advice that underpins Australia's free trade agreement with China, and a range of Australia's international commitments on climate change➢ being elected to the Compliance Committee of the Kyoto Protocol by a constituency of 33 developed economies and adjudicating on countries' requests for technical and financial assistance to fulfil their greenhouse gas reduction commitments➢ adjudicating on countries’ requests for financial and technical assistance to fulfill their greenhouse gas reduction commitments under the Kyoto Protocol.
