I am an Associate Professor of English at Bethany College. I teach an array of courses in medieval English literature, literary criticism, linguistics, foreign languages, and composition, winning the Donna Meredith Humphreys Award for Teaching. I have planned and led the overhaul of the English program's curriculum, chaired Bethany College's curriculum committee for four years, been involved in multiple academic hiring committees, coordinated the English Teaching major for eight years, and am now serving as a faculty senator and Academic Liaison Officer to the Higher Learning Commission.I have published on Post-Colonial criticism and monsters, and am currently developing a linguistic reading of Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors and a philological reading of Grendel in Beowulf. Additionally, I serve as a series editor for the Medieval Institute Press/DeGruyter and as a reviewer for both Routledge/Taylor and Francis and the journal Preternature: Critical and Historical Studies on the Preternatural.
