Mr. Marcus Hong's 30+year career in healthcare began with his concentration (major in Public Health and Economics) at Hampshire College. His experience began at UCLA Medical Center’s Marketing and Planning Department where he advanced from a Marketing Assistant to the Visiting Speakers Program Manager from 1990 thru 1997, which was a period of active expansion and development of healthcare marketing and managed care. Mr. Hong was recruited into the Administrator position to manage the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in 1997. Under his leadership, the Division regained 300 additional open-heart cases per year for an annual total of 1,100 in 2.5 years. In the same period, he incorporated a first-of-kind inpatient complementary medical services (guided imagery, acupuncture and massage therapy) for cardiac patients. He left Cedars-Sinai to establish a healthcare business consultancy named Darwin Gates in 1999. Darwin Gates thrived by developing new business for healthcare providers on the world-wide-web. He then started Hone Consulting for B2B sales. From 2006 thru 2009, he operated an international business consulting firm specializing in fostering agreements between manufacturers and R&D high-tech companies under the name of Hone Consulting. He closed the business to accept a Director level position with JWCH Institute, Inc. managing the strategic and operational directions of their Recuperative Care Program for the homeless from 2009 to 2013. Since 2013, he opened three additional recuperative care programs in Los Angeles, CA. Most recently, he has established a new nonprofit company called Recuperative Care Centers of America (RCCA).
