Provide employment support services which include intake assessments, return to work action plans, career/employment counselling, workshop facilitation, referrals to appropriate community supports/resources, job coaching, coordinating employment and life skills training for employment purposes, and provide recommendations to community agencies regarding clients employment action plans.

Oversee all service delivery and agency caseloads. Implement policies, procedures, values and organizational structure of agency. I assist in the establishment and ensure compliance of agencies short-term and long-term goals with overall agencies objectives. Plan, staff and supervise all assigned work activities to ensure a cohesive operational unit. In conjunction with Executive Director, I am responsible for maintaining good working relationships and promoting good public relations with clients, funders and community partners.

As an Employment Maintenance Worker I provided clients and employers on the job support to help bridge the barriers that may exist in communication, skill development, education and awareness about persons with disabilities. My role was to not only bridge this gap but to increase the clients self confidence on the job, while providing the employer reassurance. I provided as long as the client and/or the employer feel they are comfortable. The awareness and education I provided employers greatly enhanced their disability confidence by allowing them to overcome any concern or stereotypes regarding hiring persons with disabilities and in turn usually providing them with a dedicated, long term employee that lead to a good working relationship between the client and employer.

Coordination of support plans for families with persons with developmental disabilities who have complex or dual diagnosis that often include mental health conditions. Responsible for program development that includes creating, implementing and maintaining a family- centered approach that focuses on the families needs. Responsible for the brokerage of services such as hiring, training, developing policies and procedures, risk management, crisis intervention, securing employment and volunteer opportunities, monitoring/troubleshooting of support program and chairing case conferences. Successfully managed a caseload of 5-6 complex clients and supervised 8-12 staff members. Required to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and municipal and provincial government and health systems.

Provided early intervention for families with children who have challenging behaviors in the home and community using a family-centered approach. Effectively responded to both mental health and developmental disability related concerns. Responsible for planning and developing individualized support plans. Developed and implemented crisis response plans that included consulting with various health systems and other professionals. Have built and maintained excellent professional relationships with families, clients and other professional while being conscious of confidentiality issues.
