The ROV Pilot works with security by operating the remotely operated vehicles from the drill rigs or vessels. It is the ROV Pilot's responsibility to keep components working in perfect operational and technical order in order to allow underwater and operations inspections. An ROV Pilot adheres to the security rules of the company and works with a team to carry out operations involving the recovery and launching of remotely operated vehicles. In addition, the ROV Pilot also has the responsibility of identifying and solving any equipment problems. The ROV Pilot must remove, inspect, test and replace electric engines, hydraulic engines, hydraulic valves, hydraulic pumps and electric pumps. It is the ROV Pilot's job to test the equipment, cables and video systems, in addition to testing and operating the light systems. Operate ROV equipment including video and still cameras, acoustic positioning system, SONAR, robotic arms.Supervise the launch and recovery of ROVs.Perform preventative maintenance on equipment associated with an ROV as well as the vessel itself.Utilize test and calibration equipment.Perform basic rigging and operate small boats.Perform basic electronic and hydraulic construction.Maintain technical documentation on all aspects of an ROV.Write post-mission (flight) reports when necessary.Evaluate and interpret environmental conditions for safety.Navigate ROV.

As sesimic technician , I have perform termination work on various cable like DAG-C , MSX and LOL cable. It s a one man operation on the job. Basically, problem arises either on winch end or sea end of the cable. I also perform optic fiber retermintion, polishing, check electrical wiring using TDR and OTDR on fiber. I also do tension test and repair on mono-wing.
