From a young age, I’ve been deeply passionate about numbers and logic, which naturally led me to pursue various math-related programs and competitions. This passion, coupled with my love for strategic games, has honed my problem-solving skills and fueled my curiosity throughout my academic journey.I began my studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a major in Applied Mathematics, specializing in Mathematical Modelling and Data Analytics, and a second major in Statistics. Supported by a merit scholarship, I immersed myself in both academic and extracurricular activities, striving to develop a well-rounded skillset. During this time, I had the privilege of placing in the top 10 locally in the 2024 IQC, and top 5 globally in the MAPC Star Challenge hosted by WorldQuant, a testament to my quantitative analysis skills and competitive drive. In addition to my academic pursuits, I took on leadership roles that tested and strengthened my abilities. As the Project Director for Rag and Flag, NUS's largest freshman activity, I led a team of 70 individuals, coordinating complex events that required meticulous planning, collaboration, and adaptability. These experiences, along with my participation in various mathematical competitions and a student-exchange program, helped me cultivate a global perspective and a resilient mindset. My professional experience as a freelance consultant at WorldQuant further solidified my quantitative skills. In this role, I developed and optimized over 80 trading alphas, achieving a combined Sharpe ratio greater than 6. This experience not only honed my quantitative and analytical abilities but also provided me with a deep understanding of the complexities of financial markets, which aligns well with my career aspirations in quantitative trading and research. Now, as I embark on the next phase of my journey as a master's student in Quantitative Finance, I am eager to apply my problem-solving skills and industry experience to the world of quantitative trading and research. I am particularly interested in connecting with professionals in these fields to learn, collaborate, and contribute to the industry. In my free time, I enjoy playing strategic board games and building nanoblocks, both of which continue to sharpen my analytical thinking and attention to detail.
