Before joining McLaren, he held the position of Departmental Lecturer/RCUK Academic Fellow at Engineering Science Department, University of Oxford. During his time there, he led a research team in developing renewable energy technologies and cofounded YASA Motors, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz.Marcus has expertise in the fields of SIC, GaN power electronic devices and power conversion control circuits, high power density electric propulsion systems using both rare-earth (e.g. PMSM) and non-rare earth (SRM) materials for high performance automotive applications and large scale turbine generator design for renewable energy applications.
