CDG is one of the UK's largest restaurant groups with around 400 locations and running some of the UK's best known restaurant brands including Bella Italia, Cafe Rouge, Las Iguanas and La Tasca. I was field based with weekly attendance at head office in London Euston. My role mainly focused on the growth of the Bella Italia brand through new site acquisitions, managing the process from site identification through to legal completion and opening. Worked closely with the Group Property Director and brand managing director and presenting to the management board.

Chelmsford, United Kingdom

I was a Regional Property Director, based in the Chelmsford Regional Distribution Centre. I covered South London, dealing with new store acquisitions and extensions, store layouts, site construction visits/meetings, disposal of surplus land, project work including store and equipment upgrades. Part of the Property Committee and City Store/Aldi Local Committee.

I was field based with regular attendance at head office in Manchester. My role covered new food store acquisitions, relocations and extensions across Greater London, heading up a project team to deliver an ambitious acquisitions programme. Before focusing on London, I had covered the South East, Central & Eastern and South West regions and had also dealt with disposal work of land and property. I delivered Co-op's first and second unit in the WC postal area, which then provided Co-op with a food store in every postal district of the UK. Key acquisitions establishing Co-op a foothold in central London included Strand, Store Street, Battersea Bridge Road, Grays Inn Road, Lower Marsh, Kings Cross and Great Eastern Street.

Claygate

I was based in Claygate, Surrey and had a national remit responsible for all new store acquisitions, negotiating and managing the deal from site identification through to rent valuations and lease completion to hand-over for fit out. Units ranged from 1,500 sq.ft to 14,000 sq.ft and covered the traditional High Street shop, a smaller Books & Music format and an in-town/edge of town Furniture & Electrical format. I reported directly to the Head of Estates and attended the monthly Chief Executive meetings to present new site opportunities. I was also involved in a number of disposals.

Mapeley own and manage almost 1,000 assets located in every major town and city in the UK which makes them among the largest commercial landlords in the UK.I was brought in on a temporary contract to set up project ALPI (Alternative Levels of Property Income). Investigating additional income opportunity to be derived from the extensive Mapeley property portfolio, comprising Customs & Excise, Valuation Office and Inland Revenue buildings.Negotiating with advertising hoarding companies, coffee shop operators, telecom operators and cash machine companies to occupy space on Mapeley controlled property assets across the UK. I was based in head office at Euston Tower and reported directly to the Property Director.

Camberley

A telecoms consultancy acting on behalf of the mobile phone operators. I was based at the Camberley office in Surrey. My first 2 years were spent as an Acquisitions Surveyor acquiring land and roof top space for mobile phone telecoms infrastructure, taking the deal from initial site identification through to legal completion on behalf of the client. Worked closely with the planning team, solicitors, engineers and land owners.I was then promoted to Project Leader, to create and lead a project team, managing and training a team of 12 Acquisition Surveyors across the UK offices and 2 Administrators. Coordinated the necessary H&S training and site access. On behalf of the client, identifying and acquiring new site share and existing mast opportunities within Network Rail land holdings.
