I have 20 years of experiences working in architectural firms and more than 10 years in property development industry. In the first 13 years ((1984 – 1997) of my career I worked in UK as Design Architect, Job Architect and then promoted to Associated Architect. In UK, I gained valuable experiences in healthcare building design and construction. I returned to Malaysia in 1997 and have been working in Asia Pacific region ever since as consultant and project manager, on various types of buildings including commercial, factories, housing, hotels and healthcare in Malaysia, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and China. My resent project is a large scale retirement village in Shanghai, completed in 2015, the village consisted of more than 1 thousand units of independent living home and retirement apartments with clubhouse facilities and a nursing hospital. I was very much involved in the development of this village from inception involving land aquisition, design management, tender, contract management, both building works and interior finish and decoration works, to completion and handover.I am now looking forward to another challenge in either architectural design practice or the real estate industry in China, preferably Shanghai. I believe, my in depth overseas and China project experiences as well as my bilingual education are benefitial to both foreign and local employers.
