At BLP I am involved in managing domestic and international disputes arising out of large scale construction and engineering projects, principally in the energy sector. I cover oth commercial disputes and investor-state claims. In 2013 my main matters included a London-seated LCIA arbitration arising out of the supply of equipment for a wood pellet plant, and an ICSID arbitration relating to a Rental Power Contract in an Asian state. This year I am advising a major Korean contractor in a consortium dispute relating to an Integrated Power Plant in the Middle East, and advising a mining company on potential investment treaty claims against a Central Asian Republic.

In Mason Hayes & Curran, I had a broad commercial litigation and arbitration practice. I managed cases before the Irish High Court, domestic arbitrations under the Irish Arbitration Act 2010, and international arbitrations seated outside Ireland for a range of clients including Irish and English companies, insurance brokers, insolvency practitioners, financial services providers and start-ups. In addition, I advised multi-national companies on issues under the Brussels and Rome Regulations and the Hague Service Convention, and banks in relation to security and set-off issues arising out of historic lending.

In the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group of K&L Gates, I specialised in cross-border litigation and international arbitration. I represented a range of public and private sector clients in sectors including aviation, foodstuffs, property investment, tourism and financial services. I litigated cases before the High Court in London (Commercial, Chancery and Queen's Bench), including applications for interim injunctions and jurisdictional challenges. On the arbitration side, I was involved in commercial cases under ICC and LCIA rules, and investment treaty cases under the auspices of ICSID. In addition to my contentious work, I provided non-contentious advice on the Brussels and Rome Regulations, dispute resolution clause drafting, and enforcement of awards under the New York Convention.

As a junior associate in Lovells' Fraud, Asset Tracing and Contentious Insolvency Group, I worked on internal investigations and bank fraud claims, and advised insolvency office-holders on potential claims and recoveries. I gained experience of large-scale litigation, including the management of document discovery projects for US litigation.
