CurrentI have worked at all grade levels helping educate students in an inclusion-based environment where children with special needs are grouped into classroom environments with students of the mainstream regular education background. I help assist and ease the stigma on the students with needs by minimizing a direct focus on them as I assist students of all needs helping all kids to feel on a more equal level. I've worked with children on the autistic scale with extensive training by the people of LADSE (LaGrange Area Department of Special Education). I'm CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute Inc.) certified to help prevent and alleviate crisis situations and am versed in restraint tactics. I've worked with children with Asperger's, Bipolar, Autism and am versed in techniques that best assist them and their various needs as well as helping children of all backgrounds and needs in all grade levels at my school, K-6th. I have a way of developing a good rapport/bond with the various students and helping more challenging students develop into stronger and more successful students as they are able to remain in the inclusion environment and aren't removed for more specialized placement. I love working with kids and feel that not only is my job extremely challenging, but it's also exceptionally rewarding and even through the challenges I find things that make it one of the most exhilarating and fun job positions I've held to date.I'm flexible to new tactics passed down from my superiors, flexible to make changes mid-stream, and am knowledgeable on implementing Corrective Reading and other Direct-Instruction based scripted educational materials and systems. I work well with my peers, am a team player, am self-starting, punctual and adjust well to implementing tactics as well as fading prompts and support and shifting gears from assisting the students to assisting my co-workers.I'm also technology-savvy with exceptional fluency in both the Mac and PC platforms.
