Serves as an investigator for bus accidents and/or incidents at facilities. Support the management of the environmental safety health programs related to bus operations/facilities. Facilitate and/or attend field safety and project meetings. Perform field inspections and inspects the day-to-day bus operations and maintenance facilities, transit stations, and other NCTD facilities to evaluate service quality and compliance with contracts, regulatory requirements, and system safety standards. As delegated by the Chief of Safety and Security, serve as a liaison with oversight agencies such as CHP, FTA, CalOSHA, relative to bus operations and facility matters. Support the management and oversight of bus and facilities construction safety programs, including plan review, site safety plans, and construction contract safety enforcement. Assists in developing and implementing programs and procedures to reduce the frequency, severity and cost of accidents, occupational illnesses and eliminate or control potential hazards.
