The Alberta College of Paramedics regulates the paramedicine in the public interest. As its communications coordinator, I was responsible for facilitating communication activities with all audiences, including registered practitioners, government stakeholders, Canada's paramedicine community and the general public. I accomplished this by:-Writing and developing the College's monthly newsletter, The Pulse.-Administering the College's website, www.collegeofparamedics.org-Developing news releases as required.-Managing, monitoring, maintaining and creating content for the College's social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+). Upon joining the College, I introduced social media to it's communications strategy as a means to foster engagement between practitioners and their regulatory body. Held accountable by the Health Disciplines Board, the College submits its annual report to detail its various successes and challenges encountered over the fiscal year. In its most-recent submission, I was responsible for editing copy, contributing to selected photography and coordinating with a graphic designer. As the College continues to work toward successful transition to self-regulation under the Health Professions Act, I developed a feature article in summary of the College's tremendous regulatory growth in recent years.
