Buyer responsibilities is to initiate ,maintain, and enhance the supplier relationship in the best interests of VT Miltope. This includes comprehensive negotiations involving, price, quality, service and delivery of procured items.Act as the single point of contact for Miltope suppliers for procurement purposes.Resolve issues as they arise with a supplierNegotiate the best price, terms and logistics for each procured itemMaintain a professional relationship with suppliers insuring no conflicts of interest or "insider deals"Attend IPT and production meetings and act on/delegate procurement action itemsCommunicate with Program Managers, Engineering, Planners, and Productions to meet demand and resolve issues with suppliersMonitor MRP exceptions and respond in a timely manner.Communicate effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Program Management, and Planners to review program demands and resolve any shortages and/or supplier issuesEnter purchase orders and transmit to the supplier
